Drink This: Sweet Pea Cocktail
It's like drinking spring in a glass.
- 1½ oz. vodka
- ½ oz. fresh lime juice
- ¼ oz. Lillet Blanc
- 1 oz. sugar snap pea syrup*
Shake all this with ice and strain into a glass–preferably, a chilled coupe glass. Make sure to shake for 30 seconds each go round. Then, garnish with a lime wheel, a pea pod, and possibly a cucumber round.
Make a pitcher:
When making a pitcher, you don't get the aeration from shaking, and you have to deal with a bit of dilution from melting ice. So up the vodka and syrup a bit, and just feel refreshed out there on a spring day not having to shake things for 30 seconds a drink.
- 2 cups of vodka
- 3/4 cup of lime juice
- 1/2 cup of Littel Blanc
- 1/4 cup of sugar snap pea syrup
Stir in a pitcher with ice and float some lime wheels, pea pods, and cucumber rounds on top. Pour into some glasses on a porch and enjoy your spring day.*For the syrups, roughly chop up some snap peas and throw them in (pod and all) into a 1:1 simple syrup solution of about a cup of syrup per 1/2 cup of peas. Bring to a boil then take it off the heat to steep for half an hour. Strain.
