“The Demon Bear Saga” was an amazing and terrifying tale the cemented The New Mutants as an X-Men and Comics classic.

Word broke last year that the upcoming New Mutants movie was going to center around aspects of that tale, and everyone was shook. We got a bit of a sneak into the world of New Mutants when Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s basically about these mutants in a facility for damaged mutants,” Heaton told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s a story about these characters coming to grips with who they are and it’s a horror X-Men movie, which we haven’t seen before. I feel like, for an X-Men movie, yeah, I think they’re going full-fledged horror. Without saying too much — I really don’t want to give away too much what it’s about, it’s very under wraps — but it is, in terms of anything we’ve seen in the X-Men world, it definitely is a horror film. It’s scarier than anything we’ve seen in that genre.”

Heaton plays Sam Guthrie a.k.a. Cannonball (HE’S NIGH INVULNERABLE WHEN HE’S BLASTIN!) in a cast that also includes Maise Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, and Blu Hunt as Dani Moonstar.

The film, directed by Josh Boone (Fault In Our Stars), was pushed to Aug. 2, 2019, following reshoots, but we will be here for it.
